The Wrangell Mountains Center seeks: Operations Intern(s)

This is a fantastic opportunity with a small place based environmental, arts and science education organization in the stunning and unique mountain community of McCarthy, Alaska. Operating from an historic hardware store building, operations interns are responsible for helping: cook for large groups of people, maintaining an organic garden, orienting students, facilitating a warm organized communal living environment for staff and program participants, administrative support including program marketing, and maintaining basic off- the grid facility needs.

Hours are full time, with a minimum stay of 2 months. Internships are available at the center from early May to mid-September. Room and board is provided, with the possibility of a small stipend depending on experience, and length of stay. Pay is low, but personal rewards and experience are great. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who wants to learn about place based education centers, off-the grid sustainable and communal living, has a strong work ethic and wants to experience a small, quirky and exceptionally beautiful Alaskan town. Good computer skills an asset.
