Mcarthy OverviewMcCarthy, AK
June 4-6, 20

Glaciers, rivers, volcanoes, landslides and succession! Join us for two days of intensive and interactive field based learning about these exciting and dynamic processes. We will spend most of the course out on the trail, enjoying the dynamic environment of the McCarthy area as a classroom. Evenings will be spent engaging in insightful, indoor discussion in the Wrangell Mountains Center's historic facilities.

Programs are based in the rustic town of McCarthy at the "Old Hardware Store," just a short walk from a 25 mile-long glacier. The Hardware Store houses a classroom, dining area, communal kitchen, study lounge, library and storage space. Participants can camp on the banks of the Kennicott River, a short walk away, or choose to stay at other local accommodations. You and your family are invited to dine with use for an extra $25/person per day, or pay a small fee per meal.
